The range of hotels that Lausanne offers is great. Everything from a more modest hotel to a beautiful and elegant luxury five-star hotel.
My Hotel tips
Beau Rivage Palace – A BEAUTIFUL hotel just by the water with a view over France. Even if you’re not staying here a coffee or glass of wine on the beautiful terrace is definitely worth a visit alone.
Lausanne Palace – A gorgeous hotel situated in the heart of Lausanne. As is it a bit further up the view is AMAZING! This is also a host of many fantastic restaurants, bars and terraces, so also worth a visit even if you are staying somewhere else.
Carlton Boutique Hotel – A perfect hotel for the more modest traveller, tasteful rooms with a balcony or terrace and wonderful staff. Great location with the metro next door, one can transport themselves easy and fast throughout the city. Don’t worry about the sound, you can’t hear a thing.
As you pay tax, your stay always includes a public transportation pass that can take you around the city via metro or bus. How Brilliant is that! 😊
Restaurant tips
La Brasserie de Montbenon

Lausanne offers a wide range of great restaurants, cafés and bars. During my most recent visit I went to La Brasserie de Montbenon, a beautiful restaurant with a terrace and view to die for. To come here on Friday or Saturday you will need to book, because it is a popular place. The food is great, atmosphere fabulous and perfect both for a larger company as well as a dinner for two. When I saw “Vol-au-vent de la “B.M.” on the menu I had to order it, it is one of Switzerlands most Traditional dishes. 😋

Sorrounding areas
A visit to Montreux

If you have access to a car and feel like an excursion, Montreux is a great option. It takes about 30 min with car, and it is an amazing route along side the lake. Do you ever get tired of the view, hardly!
In Montreux you find many restaurants, hotels and strolls. Great to go for lunch or coffee! We went there to have an afternoon aperitif overlooking the mountains. It was offseason so not that many people. But the sun made us forget that is was only beginning of April, we sat and enjoyed the wine in just a sweater. How Fabulous!
Wine tasting @ Lavaux Vinorama
If you have time to spare on the way, I would recommend a stop by the Lavaux Vinorama. They offer a great selection of wines from the region, both for tasting and purchase. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is also great, just by the lake with, of course, an amazing view. 😊
Experience Lausanne like a celebrity
So, why not find one of your favourite celebrities and experience Lausanne the way they did? Eat at Beau Rivage Palace like Coco Chanel or visit the Town Hall where Mozart held concerts. Let your imagination run free!
Do not miss – Take a run or walk along the lake, you won’t regret it!
